Though constrained to sign in here as “Versipelles”, I’m usually known on-line as Tann, short for Tannhäuser — which I think both more memorable and descriptive than either John or Charles, my birth-certificate names (though perhaps not much more than “Johannes Karlus”, the names given me at the font).

I was born of an American father and a German mother in Augsburg, in what was then the American sector of West Germany (Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Federal Republic of Germany); I prefer to think of it as the Sacrum Romanum Imperium Teutonic Nationis, Heiliges Römisches Reich des deutschen Volkes, the Holy Roman Empire of the German People. Augsburg, by the way, before the Romans renamed it for the emperor Augustus, was Zisaburc, the Citadel of God. Zio (better known perhaps by his Scandinavian name Tyr) is the god whose hand was bitten off by the great Wolf Fenrir when the gods chained him up — which is the reason the (supposedly) hand-shaped root of a certain plant gained it the name “wolf’s-bane”.

If you can’t tell by now, I am a pompous, over-educated ass.

For relaxation, I like to read, and read, and read, especially Ghost Stories (M. R. James and Saki are big favorites), history (particularly German and mediæval), and literary criticism. I also like music — the early Romantics, Beethoven, Weber, Schubert, the early Wagner above all. I worship American animation. My favorite animated film is Disney’s Pinocchio; I also love Fantasia and The Little Mermaid, but not Beauty and the Beast or The Lion KingThe Hunchback of Notre Dame I found crass beyond all belief. My favorite television cartoon, Jonny Quest). I hate, loathe, despise, and abhominate anime. I draw a bit, write a bit, and have a voice like a nightingale — a nightingale who has been gargling sulfuric acid.

Oh, and I love werewolves. An American Werewolf in London is my second favorite movie. (The Adventures of Robin Hood (1937 — yes, the Errol Flynn one) is my favorite.)

By religion, I am a Roman Catholic. Politically, I am a little to the right of Torquemada. Do NOT talk politics to me. I love people (particularly young people) naturally and I believe in courtesy, but if you disparage my beliefs, I want nothing to do with you. Chacun à son gout.

And remember: The supernatural — the Power of Darkness — it’s all true.

Current Residence: Augusta, GA, USA
Favourite genre of music: The Early Romantics
Favourite style of art: Pre-Raphaelitism
Favourite cartoon character: Jonny Quest
Personal Quote: The Supernatural - the Power of Darkness - it's all true.

(Indeed, I would say after I recognised the true reason why it caused that story to be happened but I forgot to say to you, now I just figure out before I forget it again.)

For that story, I can accept both of agreement and disagreement as I'm a logical person. Unfortunately, there were some bias and hate speech comments for disagreement. Also, I was not tolerate with bias and hate speech, and I was stereotype.
(As I was stereotype, that's why some of them who disagreed was unlucky.)

If there was no bias and hate speech for disagreement, so that story would not happen.
For me, I also learnt the lesson from that story as I should be more tolerate (even though they did something bad) and don't be stereotype.

I stalked you followed you from FFL forums >>…

I've already known that FF group, but I don't know if people in FFL forums still do FF fan art in DA.

PS. That's why I sometimes feel very familiar with your avatar picture in FFL forums. LOL

Thanks for visiting and favoriting.  I hope you will enjoy the stuff I post here.  And, yes, I suppose my Hunson Abadeer avatar is fairly recognizable by now. I wanted something unique for myself, but I thought I ought at least to use an actual Cartoon Network character. Hunson is not exactly my favorite, but then, I haven't really made all that many FusionFall characters yet, and I thought he was at least more appropriate than Boomer, Brick, or Butch.  (I was very tempted by Numbuh 60, though!)

Anyway, thanks again for coming by!

For the comment that you replied me at FFL forums about wedding and children system, I really appreciated even though you disagreed with my idea. :)

I found some offensive and rude comments in that topic. :(

I am afraid I do disagree with it rather strongly, but I don't think there is any reason to be unnecessarily harsh about it.  There is an old proverb: "You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar"; you can convince people more with a polite argument than with rudeness.

Of course, a lot of people on that thread are young, and perhaps come from cultures or backgrounds that do not put much emphasis on courtesy.  One has to make exceptions for people who were not given the advantage of a civilized upbringing.  Just remember that, and don't let their boorish ways bother you; recognize it as a sign that you were lucky to have a decent upbringing.

Where do you find your Fusion Fall backgrounds? :)

If you need a background for a particular area, drop me a line and I'll see if I have a screen cap for that area.

Well no, I don't need one right now, but thanks anyway. I was just curious. ^^
